The Dallas Summer Boat Show and Sales produced and owned by Show Management Professionals, Ltd, a subsidiary of Dallas Boat Show, Inc. Dallas Boat Show, Inc. was established in 1973. Originally produced as the Southwest Boat and Recreation Show in 1955, the “boat” section of the show branched away, under the influence of 33 local dealers in 1973. These 33 original dealers pooled their monies, in equal amounts to purchase the “boat” portion of the show and move it to Dallas Market Hall. The current show has operated annually in that location since. A second endeavor, known publicly as the Dallas Summer Boat Show and Sale was started in 1989 and has been held each year at Dallas Market Hall since that date. In 2008 the corporation, operating under the partnership of Show Management Professionals, Ltd., purchased the Texas Fishing, Hunting and Outdoors Show, held annually at the Arlington Convention Center.
